• 4 doctoral courses should be selected from the BiGSEM Field Courses : 4 ECTS each (= 16 ECTS)

• Participation in the Summer School: 3 ECTS
• PhD Proposal: 5 ECTS (elaboration of the PhD proposal with the two advisors and an external member)

Research work 30 ECTS

• Elaboration of the dissertation: 30 ECTS (with a written first year progress report on the advancement of research)

D2 (Second Year) = 60 ECTS - mandatory and elective
Mandatory: 45 ECTS (at least) Doctoral training 8 ECTS

• Attendance at two Research Seminars: 2 ECTS each (= 4 ECTS)
• Courses in local language, see PunktUm: 2 ECTS for each semester (= 4 ECTS)

Research work (at least 37 ECTS)

• Participation in the EDE-EM jamboree: 4 ECTS
• Elaboration of the dissertation: 30 ECTS (with a written second year progress report on the advancement of research)
