January 19: EBIM Workshop / BiGSEM Anniversary Review

The EBIM Doctoral Workshop taken place at Bielefeld University on the 5-7 of December has been perceived as a wide success in the eyes of all participants. It is entirely organized independently by the EBIM doctoral students. For the 6th time, other doctoral students were invited to talk about their research in various fields of theoretical economics, ranging from game theory to financial markets. Out of more than fifty applicants, fourteen speakers who research at high reputation universities presented their ideas and results. These were introduced in talks of a very high quality and the workshop furthermore benefited from a professional attitude of all participants. During a poster session the EBIM doctoral students themselves were able to give an overview of their research topics. The guest speakers felt very welcome at Bielefeld University and praised the hospitality and the organization of their hosts. The workshop became a fruitful exchange of ideas and concepts that the international guests agreed upon should take place again next year. Since 2006 this workshop series is hosted by the EBIM doctoral students and thus it can claim to have the longest history of its kind in Germany.
