When will I know whether my paper is accepted?
You will receive the information approximately four weeks after the application deadline.
I recently obtained a PhD in economics. Will you still consider my application?
No, the workshop is just aimed at doctoral students.
How do I apply?
Send an email with your research paper and your contact details to bigsemworkshop(at)uni-bielefeld.de. If you cannot yet send the full paper you could also send an extended abstract. Additional information, such as the university you are affiliated with or the research area of your paper, would also be helpful but is not necessary for being considered/invited.
Should I apply with published/unpublished work?
You can apply with published, as well as unpublished work, there are no limitations for this
I have two papers. May I apply with both?
Yes, you can submit both papers. However, you may only present one at the workshop. We will decide which one.
My area of interest does not appear on the list of topics. Should I still apply?
Even if your topic is not explicitly mentioned on the flyer/poster, you are still welcome to apply with your research for the workshop.
How is accommodation handled?
Single bedrooms for presenters will be booked and covered from Sunday, December 9 to Wednesday, December 12.
How do I get to Bielefeld University?
Which travel costs are included in reimbursement?
We cannot provide financial support for travel costs to and from Bielefeld.
What is the structure of the workshop?
During the two days there will be 16 talks. Each talk will last 30 minutes (including time for discussion).
My question did not appear. What can I do?
